About Dorset Author, Paul Cosway

Paul is hoping to make the beautiful area of North Dorset the next Midsummer - a district
that people turn to for thrilling crime stories! His crime stories focus on the problems faced
by D.I.Ken Jones and his loyal assistant Sergeant Jenny Grace. In a series of stories, they face
up to murder, organised crime, drug gangs, a female psychopath, and girls forced into
sexual slavery (to name just a few!). You will be amazed at what goes on in sleepy Dorset!
Ken's life mission is to protect vulnerable women from harm - but he encounters many
problems of his own as his love life spirals out of control!
If you like exciting stories with a dash of humour and more than a touch of romance, these
are for you!
Paul also writes stories for children and teenagers. He is a poet and playwright. Whilst at
university his one act plays won many awards, including first prize at the prestigious
Stephen Joseph Drama Festival.
He takes an active interest in contemporary issues and is concerned about unfairness in
public life; the rich/poor divide; the need to expand opportunities for young people; housing
problems; the economy; and the state of politics in Britain and the Western World. As
Safeguarding Governor for a local large secondary school, he is actively involved in the
quality of education and the welfare of young people.
Paul’s hobbies include gardening (with his wife Maureen, their garden was part of the
National Garden Scheme); reading; painting; collecting antiques (our insurance company has
asked me to say that we have none of any value, in case this is read by a burglar); and
collecting old toys (especially model trains!).
Paul has an Honours degree and a Masters degree in English Language and Literature, was
Senior County Inspector of Schools for Essex before moving to Dorset in 2000. He led
OFSTED inspections for many years before working as a school reviewer and School
Improvement Partner across the USA.
